Why Adoption??

Many people have asked us why adoption? Well it is simple. It is what God had planned for us all along and we just didn't know it. It all began in December 2005 when the four of us attended a Steven Curtis Chapman concert. As we drove to the concert we commented on how easy life was with older kids and how we were perfectly content with two children. God must have been laughing at us because on the way home we were picking out baby names. You see Steven Curtis Chapman was used by God that night to work in a mighty way, not only in our hearts but the hearts of our children. We were forever changed that night and have never looked back. We began our process on December 9th, 2005. That day marked the beginning of Doctor appointments, Fingerprints, Back ground checks, Social workers and lots and lots of prayer as we discovered it was going to be a long wait until we brought our little Annabel home. Here we are, 18 months later. It seems as though it is all a blur now. Each heartache, headache, stressful day and tear was worth it to hear the words from our adoption agency, "We have a very special little girl for you". June 27th, 2007 was the day we received the call. I will never ever forget that moment. I am sure it will pale in comparison to how it will feel to have Annabel in my arms the first time.
